Lab 5-lighting ratios

This week we had a chance to use a key light, fill light and background light in the studio and this is the result I got using a 8:1 ratio which means that the key light had a f value of 8 meaning that the fill light was three stops back in the scale meaning it was at 2.8 and the background light was at 11 one stop up from the key light.

Photography lab 3

Photo 1: This photo was my attempt at removing a shadow by bouncing the flash off the ceiling. As you can see that it has very little shadows.

Photo 2: This was my attempt of using a flash from using a bounce from behind the the camera. I feel like I could have done better but this was the best shot out of the pic.

Photo 3: This image is was my attempt at creating a shot with harsh shadows. The shadows are very little but very harsh as they appear behind the subjects ears and under his chin.

photography lab 2

The above image is an example of Aperture priority with flash. It was taken with a built in flash from the camera. It gives off a very obvious flash effect on the subject

The above image is an example of slow sync with flash it was achieved by taking a image a while in the slow sync mode and getting the subject to move as the image was taken.

This image is an example of where the subject is overpowered by the built in flash as a result of a high manual ratio.
